It’s perfect, really. Greta’s taking a break from dating and Aaron needs to focus on training.

Nothing could go wrong…as long as neither falls for the other. But when lines are crossed, what’s real and fake blurs and the two are forced to face their fears. Could Greta be the game changer Aaron needs?

Excerpt

We each took a long swig, not breaking our eye contact. The gift in my pocket now weighed ten pounds. My voice resembled a primitive caveman’s rather than my normal tone. “I bought you a present.”

“What?” Her mouth curved up, her perfect white teeth on display. “I love gifts!”

“Yeah. I know. I saw it and thought of you. You might not like it. Well, maybe you will. I don’t know.” She bit down on her lips, fighting a smile as I stumbled over my words. I chose to stop talking then and there. I handed her the small package and watched as she opened it with a wild expression in her eyes. Buy her presents all the time if she smiles like that.

“Is it a necklace?” she whispered, twisting the gold chain in her fingers. “What does it say?” Suddenly, I broke out in a sweat. It was a terrible idea. The worst. I tried to take it out of her hands, but she was too quick. “Is it your name?”

I nodded. “You heard Kenzie at brunch about what girls wear now. Girls should wear their guy’s name around their neck. It’s a message, you know? I figured it would be perfect for our ruse.” Her eyes dimmed, slightly, before she nodded. “Yes. The ruse.”

“I can return it. Here, it’s stupid.” I tried taking it from her again, but she shook her head.

“No.” She pursed her lips and stood. She sat on the edge of my side of the booth and put her back to me. She lifted her hair and exposed the nape of her creamy neck. I gulped. “Help me put it on.”

Review

Aaron plays college baseball, he is a sexy playboy. His life is a mess at the moment. With a social media drama scandal, that can ruin his MLB career. He could also lose is scholarship and with his father ill with cancer they are tight on money.

Greta is a college student. She is only focused on her studies not men and their drama. Aaron happens to be her best friend.

Aaron turns to Greta to be his fake girlfriend to help salvage his reputation. Can these two pretend or will this become real?

This was a cute story. I loved reading Aaron & Greta's journey into growing from a fake to a real couple. These two were fun and silly together. Easy banter at times an a little awkwardness about getting over the friend aspect. I loved the authors way with words and how easy the story flows. All in all a great story.
