BLURB:
After her friend Sandy Mangual tragically falls to his death,
Bailey Cohen discovers images of his grisly corpse have been uploaded and
shared through social media, by someone very close to her.
Fed
up, in a stagnant relationship with an emotionally-abusive boyfriend, Bailey
enlists the help of quiet, unnoticed, underappreciated Bernardo Castillo, who
works the luxury Miami Beach high rise in which she stays.
Bernardo
will have to dredge up the shady past he’s long worked to tamp down in order to
set off on a journey of vengeance that will reshape and morph each person
engulfed along its way.
Icarus
Over Collins is a short, punchy revenge story as cracked and slivered as hot
Miami pavement.
Tras
Miami Beach cuya Bailey habita.

EXCERPT:
I didn’t give a fuck
I didn’t give a shit if I looked like I ran a mile in under
eight minutes, or if I ballooned mere months before prom. Not like I had a date
anyway. In turn, no one at Saint Ignatius cared for me, so why keep myself from
doing what I loved? Which, in high school, was mostly eating. Eating and
studying.
I didn’t try to be a social pariah, believe me. I was as
sociable as they come with no reason to be ornery. Parents were still together,
didn’t smack me around, and my GPA meant a full ride to the University of
Florida. Senior year, I was ready to get my diploma and give Saint Ignatius
Catholic High School an erect, bony finger.
Mom and dad mostly left me alone as long as I stayed focused and kept my
grades up. It was a sweet life. No reason to complain or worry about
superficial shit.
Believe it or not, this outlook actually made me uber nice.
To everyone. Which was a problem. In those years, where high school rebellion
and teenaged angst were all the rage, it didn’t make me a popular classmate.
Even in a $15,000/year institution—I’m willing to bet because of it—the kids
had no problem letting me know how out of favor I was.

Well this one really took me by surprise. The story was short but, it really packed a punch. The story has both English & Spanish in it which I thought was great and more realistic. Bernando & Bailey really work together to find out who uploaded her friends picture of their death. They really go on a journey where they find some drama and excitement. This was a well written story. I really loved this one!
